National Cadet Corps (NCC) :: formed in 1948 under the Ministry of Defence as the second line of defence with the motto of Unity and Discipline.

·        Best Cadet Award Ist Position (3500/-) National Level (4 Cadets) Best Cadet Award IInd Position (2500/-) National Level (4 Cadets)

·        Republic Day (RD) Camp Award (Honourable Governor of India (21,000/-)

·        Vice- Chancellor Medal for best cadet (University Level based on written exam)

Indian Army

·        In every regular course of the Indian Military Academy (IMA), 32 vacancies are reserved for the ‘C’ certified NCC candidates. But to join IMA it’s a must for all the candidates to be declared successful by the Services Selection Board.

·        The cadets with ‘C’ certificate are exempted from CDS examination conducted by UPSC. But for this, the cadet must have ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade in ‘C’ certificate.

·        NCC ‘C’ certification offers you 10–15 bonus marks in paramilitary forces recruitment i.e. BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB etc.

·        If you have NCC ‘C’ certificates then your written exam will be waived off for the post of Soldier GD.

Government Sector

·        NCC ‘C’ Certificate holder: can get bonus Marks in Central/State Govt. Jobs.

Public Sector

·        Many organizations from the public sector give advantages to the cadets with ‘C’ certification like Indian Airlines, Pawan Hans Ltd, The National Small Industries Corp. Ltd.

 

 

NSS

·        NSS means National Service Scheme. There are two NSS UNITs in Govt. College Barwala(Pkl.). One is NSS Girl’s UNIT and other is NSS Boy’s UNIT. There are approx. 100 students in each UNIT each year. The students participate in various activities in NSS.

·        There are two One Day Camps and one 7   Day Camp that is organized in every session. The students perform various activities during camp like poster making, slogan writing, cleaning the campus, weeding out the plants, playing games etc. In seven day camp each day different activities are organized for the students and students prepare their own breakfast, lunch and dinner in the camp and serve and clean the utensils themselves.

·        Students participate in many other activities also which are organized for celebrating various days in the college campus like Independence Day celebration, Republic day celebration, Unity Day celebration, NSS day celebration, Poshan Mah Celebration, Yuva Diwas, Nasha Mukti Rallies in the village, Slum area visit etc. The students enjoy celebrating all the events and learn how to become socially active and execute their responsibilities in an effective manner.
