A four-day workshop on organic vermicompost from 16th to 20th December

A four-day workshop on organic vermicompost was organized from 16th to 20th December under the chairmanship of Principal Dr. Hemant Verma in Government College Barwala, Panchkula. On the first day of the workshop, guest speaker was Dr. N.K. Goyal Senior Scientist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Damla, Yamunanagar and Dr. Sandeep Rawal delivered lecture on Vermi Composting a Biological Process, he explained that Vermi Composting is a biological process in which earthworm species are used mainly to convert organic matter or biodegradable waste into compost. Is done to change. The vermicompost produced is rich in nutrition and thus is widely used as organic fertilizer in organic farming. In the second day's workshop, speakers Dr. Shubha and Dr. Rakesh gave lectures on soil health and soil testing. He explained that healthy soil provides essential nutrients and water for plants to grow. Healthy soil is essential for a healthy plant. In the workshop on the third and fourth day, Dr. Ranveer and Dr. Vinay Yadav expressed their views on selection of manure and fertilizer for plants, testing of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus, ratio soil test, pH parameters of soil and important things. Rohini Singla, Convenor of Internal Quality Assurance Cell, thanked all the staff members and non-teaching staff members for participating in this workshop.
